MOTORISED BLINDS
Motorised blinds raise and lower at the touch of a button, using a remote control, an app or a smart home system. The blinds in this collection are motorised roller blinds, and Roman blinds can be motorised too. Curtains can't, so if you want a motorised window, a blind is the way to do it. A motor makes most sense on windows that are hard to reach, very wide or very tall, and in rooms where you open and close the blinds several times a day.
Where a motor earns its place
The obvious spot is a window you can't comfortably reach: a landing window over the stairs, a tall window behind a fitted sofa, glazing above kitchen units. Big living room windows are another, because lifting a large blind by hand several times a day soon gets tiresome. In a bedroom, plenty of people like closing the blind without getting out of bed. On a small window you can reach easily, a standard blind does the job just as well.
Choosing the fabric
A motor doesn't change what the blind does to light, so choose the fabric as you would for any blind. A bedroom still needs one of our blackout blinds, and a sunny lounge a light filtering fabric.
